I looked through some comic ideas after stuck how to draw and how to layout the comic book.
I looked on Pinterest and some gret pictures came up of how to draw certain body parts and other things like weapons and animals.
As the main character of the comic book is a ninja spider i also looked at cartoon spiders and i also looked at shadows and ho you put them into a characters features.

Creative Thinking
In last weeks lecture we were thinking about Creative thinking and we looked at many toys and how they are all similar. Ie. like lego and kinex. We then were set a task to come up with a toy which is different to other popular toys.
Our group made up the company name called 'Barnsley's' and this brand sells toys usually vehicles which are bigger than usual toys but apart from you build the vehicle from scratch and it also has a working diesel engine that you have to build, this product was aimed at 16+
our group knuckled down and i had the task of designing the product and this what i designed on adobe Illustrator

Patterns in photoshop - "Candy"
Firstly we started a page in photoshop that was 100 x 100 pixels and created the background transparent. We then set a rule i the middle of the page and created a new layer and placed a dark red rectangle and duplicated it twice and put it either side of the page. This Created the Pattern.
We then created a new file, with a plain white background then
used the text tool to apply the word Candy on to the page.
I then applied that pattern onto the text, then put a darker red as an outline, then added a golden outer glow.
After i dome this a made the background the same pattern apart from i made it a light pink colour, then tilted the background slightly to make it the same angle as the text.

X-mas Cards
I done this christmas card on Adobe Illustrator, Firstly i placed the background colour and i added the snow hill by drawing a shape with the pen tool, then drew the trees by inserting a triangle then narrowing it down and copying it many times and changed the colour of them to show the effect of shadows. I then drew the shadows of the trees, then inserted the text and coloured it with a yellow and orange gradient with a white stroke. i then drew a snowflake using the line tool and shrunk it down and copied it many times and changed the size. Then finally drew santa his slay and reindeers all by scratch using the pen tool
I done this card by using a text that would suit the christmas spirit then added a slant to it, then using the brush tool i imported some X-mas trees, i picked the one that i liked then applied it to the middle of the card

Message Maps / Pitching
In todays lecture we looked at employability, we looked into detail about pitching. Pitching is when a product is presented to someone or a group of people, ie. Dragons Den or The Apperentice.
We then made Message maps.
We then made Message maps.
- Do you think the pitch was successful and WHY?
No because it wasn’t very formal and the majority of them seemed unconfident and they were not organized.
2. What works well and what doesn’t in your opinion and WHY?
What worked well was the contrast of colour of the actual product, however the way they presented it was not good as it was informal
3. Is there anything you would do differently?
Interesting, confident, organized and made sure that everything was at a professional standard and not a sloppy pitch. I would make the advert very good to show the target audience Thursday, 19 November 2015
Christmas Cards - Preliminary Photoshop Designs
In todays lecture we created preliminary designs for our christmas cards using photoshop.
We started by applying a gradient to the background, we did this by choosing the colour then using the gradient tool to create the effect, then placed a half colour gradient effect.
Afterwards we looked at filters, we chose the filter, noise and applied that to the page then turned it to around 30% - 40% to create the card effect instead of a solid boring colour.
Once i done this i used the polygonal lasso tool to draw the triangle then coloured this triangle yellow, after that i changed the opacity of the triangle down to 50% so the ends of the triangle were faded out into the red background.
after that i installed a snowflake brush to use around and in the yellow triangle, we changed the size jitter so there was a variety of different sized snow flakes, we coloured them a lighter yellow and scattered them in and the outline of the triangle to make this. \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ \/
i did the same to the white star and the plant pot and then i inserted text saying merry christmas then i put a white outline around the text. and then i was finished. this is the final product.

Final Postcard
This is my final postcard design, i chose this as mt final design because i did alot of work and tweaked the filters alot to get the final outcome, i thought it would be a good final design as i liked the look of it, also it appeals to my target audience because of the layout and the colours used.
All postcard designs!
This postcard was started by inserting a photo from the camera that i took the photo with, after i sized it i started putting a hazey and a vignette filter onto the postcard, afterwards i started playing with the brightness and contrast to get a colourful effect, lastly i finished by using a old fashioned/modern font and wrote text along the bottom of the postcard.
I started this postcard by selecting four photos from the photos we took around bath.i then inserted them into photoshop, then size them all so they could all fit equally onto the page, after i sized them all i inserted a royal blue box to show the royalty of bath, then lastly i inserted a thin text to show uniqueness of bath.
This postcard that i designed i started by selecting four photos from the photos we took around bath.i then inserted them into photoshop, then size them all so they could all fit equally onto the page, after i sized them all i started by inserting a gold shield into the middle of the page. after that i put gold lines along lines where the photos collided, lastly i inserted Roman Bath in the middle of the shield but made the font old english to show the vintage theme.
This postcard that i designed i started by selecting a photo from google and put a blue filter on it so the snow was highlighted more, after that i put dark blue lines along the top and the bottom of the postcard. Lastly i finished by downloading a font from 'DaFont' and inserted that into photoshop, then wront Bath Spa in the middle of the postcard. i think this font gave it a retro feel so that is why i chose it.

task 2
There are many differences in Typeface that the public don't notice that change the font completely. For example
Arial Bold - Some people may use this font to get a more erupting approach to the viewer or to emphasize the point a lot more so they can get a better response.

postcards 01/10/15
I started by inserting the photo and left a small gap at the bottom
I then edited the photo by adding a filter onto the filter
Postcard 1: The first postcard i did is the one i like most because it suits roman bath and i like the colour scheme and photos used becasue it gave a good overall design, i did this because i wanted the postcard to look old fashioned and vintage to match the scheme roman bath.
Postcard 2: On the second postcardi like how its modern but not over the top, i like the blue box in the middle representing royalty and the text also goes with the postcard showing that the postcard is unique.
photography results!
Rule Of Thirds
My Photo - we went into bath and took our own photos of many things to fit into certain types. I took this photo then photoshopped the grid onto the the photo. As you can see the circle map in the middle in the centre of attention and the rest o the grid is background.Photo from- https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Rule_of_Thirds-Grand_Canyon_Horse_Shoe_Bend_MC.jpg - This photo is an example of the Rule of Thirds, i found this photo on google images, which i searched specific photos which can be used by other people. As you can see by this photo this is the Grand Canyon Horse Shoe, this photo is split into thirds to emphasise the middle island the the river going around it. (In the middle third) and the rest of the thirds are background/foreground.

Creating Balance
When we went into bath and took this photo to create balance. the main object in this photo is stick on the floor, also with the the bike in the top left corner creates balance but the stick is still the main object as it is in the picture completely unlike the bike.
I got this photo from wikipedia. This photo is a good example of Creating Balance. The main object in the picture is the beetle, but there are other things in the photo like sticks and moss which creates balance because there is still a lot going even though the photograph has the focus on the beetle.
Depth of Field
This photo we took when went into bath i thought it would be good if i focused of the background and blurred out the bike so it shows that the bike is closer to the camera
