Illustrator - tutorials

As a starter activity i started by looking at some tutorial videos of illustrator, as i am confident with this software i knew the basics so i looked at using the pencil tool as i never use it that much.
They lookat at the short cuts of the pencil tool and how you also have a smooth pencil tool, i learnt that you can draw on top of your stroke of another line that was drew with the pencil tool and that will change the path instead of on top of it, you can also change the shape by selecting the white arrow and moving the anchors to change the shape.

Concept Art

What is concept art??

Concept art is a form of illustration used to convey an idea for use in films, video games, animation, comic books or other media before it is put into the final product. Concept art is also referred to as visual development and/or concept design. - (Source) Wikipedia.

Some artist i researched are below with some pictures of there work...

• Sergi Brosa - She does illustrations to create fictional characters and she pays good attention to detail of the characters and includes there fashion to show the personality or if they have a certain power or strength.

• Robert Chew - He does unusual concept art by illustrating robot animals, this shows that his illustrations are unique as he has unusual ideas which create a wow factor when looking at the pictures.

X-mas Cards

I done this christmas card on Adobe Illustrator, Firstly i placed the background colour and i added the snow hill by drawing a shape with the pen tool, then drew the trees by inserting a triangle then narrowing it down and copying it many times and changed the colour of them to show the effect of shadows. I then drew the shadows of the trees, then inserted the text and coloured it with a yellow and orange gradient with a white stroke. i then drew a snowflake using the line tool and shrunk it down and copied it many times and changed the size. Then finally drew santa his slay and reindeers all by scratch using the pen tool

I done this card by using a text that would suit the christmas spirit then added a slant to it, then using the brush tool i imported some X-mas trees, i picked the one that i liked then applied it to the middle of the card

In todays lecture we started talking about the data that we got back from the class's responses to the questionnare that we did last week, after we recived the data from steve i started by opening illustrator and looking for a good font for the heading. after i found a good font i started by making a school like design along the top, after this i made a rough drawing of a pen and added that to spice the infographic up, i then ended by adding text and the data itself. finally i ended it by adding the creator and copyright.

In todays lecture we took part in some quizes and shown some imagination of our infographic designs, we were then called up to the front to have a look at some infographic surveys and a CV.
shortly after looking at this we opened Illustrator and had a look at some basic tools and getting to know the program itself
