Page 1: This the first page of my comic book, i started by using the box template that i made last week, then i made a mask layer so i could draw outside the boxes and it wouldn't show up on the page.I then started drawing with the pen tool and the line tool all of the details, then i placed in the sketch of 'Sinja' then added in all of the gradients and the colours.
I chose these colours as i wanted the nice bright colours for the climax of the event, to make the reader become exited and be drawn into the story. I then finally put in all of the sentences and used a font called 'Haettenschweiler' this font was good as it was nice and clear and bold. After i placed a 10 degree angle on the font and put a 15mm stroke on the text to outline the text and make it more visible.
What i would do if i had to improve it, i would sketch the character in different positions so it would fit better.
Page 2: This is the second page of my comic book, i started by using the second shape template and started by using the pen tool and the rectangle tool and the star tool to make the shapes, i put the gradients in and used the yellow and orange for lights and cyan and royal blue to show the motion of 'Sinja' flying through the sky.
I then placed in all of the text and used the 'Haettenschweiler' font again and i put a 10 degree shear on the text and then i put a 15mm white stroke around the outside of the text, i also had to round the edges of the text as the text would leave spikes popping out and it looked unprofessional.
If i had more time i would of gone in to more detail and possibly would ad in a flare or looked at some free vectors so i could perfect the drawings... "ie. buildings"

Comic book design + Drawing
I started by making a new file and putting the size to A4 and started by using the pen tool to create the box designs/sizes, i then put them in place and put them a light grey, i then put a white to black gradient as the background then i decided to put a 2mm stroke around the boarder of the shape.
Improvements: I would properly experiment a bit more with the shapes and i would also experiment with different colours to see what would suit the theme of the comic book.
After i printed off my design i started to draw in the boxes, i used the story board that i did to come up with a design and this is what i came up with.

comic books - mood board + ideas
I looked through some comic ideas after stuck how to draw and how to layout the comic book.
I looked on Pinterest and some gret pictures came up of how to draw certain body parts and other things like weapons and animals.
As the main character of the comic book is a ninja spider i also looked at cartoon spiders and i also looked at shadows and ho you put them into a characters features.

Comic Book - Playing around with photoshop
I started by setting the background a blue/teal colour, i then created a new layer and selected the custom shape tool and put in the right dimensions and shaped it to how i wanted it.i then inserted a new shape and used the star tool, put in the right dimensions and placed it in place three times and made them all different colours and then placed text, and added a inner shadow and a pattern on it.

Comic analysis
If i was to design my own comic i would use the first design, as it is clear to see and the photos are detailed and have the dialoge that you need you need to know.
1) Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The layout is big pictures a few speech and writing, There are 5 frames then of whch they are all big frames and detailed sketches. I like the layout of the frames and the text used, There are speech bubbles showing simple short sentences or words like. "No!" and "you cant hide from me, girl"
2) Mrs Webber's Diary
The layout has alot of frames with alot more speech than star wars. There are 9 frames they are all small with cartoon sketches. I dont like the layout as much as there is alot going on. The speech bubbles are showing long sentences of the conversations which is hard to follow when there is alot going on.
3) Dark Rain
The layout of Dark Rain is simple and bold, the frames and big and the sketches are detailed.I like the sketches and the size of the frames make it eaiser to read. there are small speech bubbles with a few words in each which i think is how comic books should be.
