task 6

Kerning - Kerning is where you can adjust the space between characters of a word to either make the word longer or shorter to fit into certain things ie. usually this would be used for printing.
Difference to tracking - (In typography, kerning is the process of adjusting the spacing between characters in a proportional font, usually to achieve a visually pleasing result. A good example would be a work that would start with the two letters of Wa)

Tracking - usually magazines will have a small gap between the characters so they can fit a long bold work along the magazine front cover.
An example of a larger space between the characters would be a heading on a internet article or a logo etc.
Difference to kerning - (Kerning is spacing of specific pairs of characters. Because of the relationship of their respective shapes, would appear to be too far apart if spaced normally - A good example would be the letter A and the letter V)
